I'm Feelin' "Frisco" Tonight!

Saturday, March 21: Frisco, TX- 2:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m., and 7:30 p.m.
I love sleeping in! I went to lunch at Firehouse Subs today and grabbed another delicious shake from Go Go Burger. Today, a Zinger shake!
Ryan's grandparents were in town visiting his aunt and uncle, so they all came to visit today. They watched the first show and hung out afterwards as well. Ryan's little cousin, Brandon, was having me recap the gags for him after the show. He then was reminding his mom of everything that happened. He made us all laugh when he told her about how in the shovel gag we shot arrows and found gold in the Ringmaster's butt. Ah, out of the mouths of babes...
Gary Rae and his son, Cody, came to visit and see the second show. Gary was a 1972 Clown College graduate and worked on circuses for 13 years. His son Cody used to clown with him and is now wanting to get back into it and pursue Ringling. I met them both at the Clown College Reunion last September; they are good guys.
We had good crowds all day. I didn't even get winded by there being three shows, although we did designate the third show as being the "wacky show".
We were acting like a couple of fools during the coloring book pitch; then in the introduction to the sink gag I was being constantly heckled by two girls while I was doing the laughing bit. I continued to laugh and snort until I just stopped and yelled, "Shut up!"
Ryan lost it and even John started to crack a bit during his talking. The whole third sink gag was just a knock down, drag out gag in general.
One of Casey and Natalie's dogs kept escaping from the pen during the last two shows. That ensured lots of excitement and chasing in the back yard.
Tiger "drive bys" have also been a source of excitement. The tigers get parked right outside the Alley right after Casey's act, and lately they have decided to spray their noxious urine in our general direction. Just yesterday Ryan was standing and talking to someone and a tiger sprayed right behind him. It was a very close call. I imagine it would have the same effect on humans as the creature blood from the movie "Alien" had.
There was a soccer match going on next door to us during the last show. At the conclusion of it there were fireworks, which spooked the animals. People ran over to make sure the horses didn't escape, and the elephant handlers ran over and put the elephants through some of their behaviors to keep their minds off the noise. I thought that was a really cool idea.
Casey, Nat, Ryan and I went to the Irish pub next to the lot for dinner. We got some appetizers and drinks, and part of our tab was taken care of by the generous $30 gift certificate that Ryan's family got for us.
The plan was to hang out more at the Cainan back yard, but we called it a night after just a short visit. We were all pretty bushed.
