Thank You!

Hey everyone,

Before you read the final blog entry of the 2011 season that is located below this post, I have a small favor to ask.

As you all know, I did incredibly well at keeping up with the blog this year! I don't think I missed a single day, and if I did take a day off, I believe I gave notice and caught up the next day. Yay me!

But enough back patting. I was wondering if you could all do one teeny, tiny favor for me? Everyone, please post a comment to this entry so I can see exactly how many people read my blog on a daily basis.
You don't have to sign your name, it is fine by me if it is an anonymous comment. You don't even have to write a message; just a letter, number, symbol, anything!
I'm just interested in the number of comments. So I can feel popular....I guess....

It would sure mean a lot to me if you could all do this simple task. Thank you all for following my blog, and thanks to everyone that was able to come out and support the show and me and Ryan with your enthusiasm, kindness, and free roll!

And to everyone I haven't met yet, I hope to see you down the road!

Sincerely,

Steve Copeland

Read your blog every day for the past several months--great reading. You made me feel I was on the show. I worked in the road office of Carson & Barnes in the late 80's and always visit that show when it's in the area. Circus stays with one forever. Saw KM about 3 years ago and loved it. Tried to visit this year when you were in the Chicago area but work got in the way.

Steve: We've watched you grow up on the blog this season--oh, sorry, that was Ryan's son. But anyhow, you did a fantastic job of documenting the season with some fab insights to where to pick up good eats and a cup of coffee in small towns all over the eastern half of the U.S. of A. Best of luck in your off-season ventures.

Hi Steve--I really enjoy reading your blog everyday and keeping up with what is happening on the show.I always like to know if the dates I book are any good and I get a fair representation from you each day.

You and Ryan are the BEST clowns that I have seen this year and I have been to about 15 different shows. It is great to watch the audience reactions while you are both working.

Thanks for a great season and I hope next year will be even better!!

Hi Steve, I especially appreciate the blog this year, as you had some misgivings about doing it again, as I recall. So glad you did it anyway. Also delighted to have met you in Saratoga Springs in July at Smirkus. Now I can't wait to see you perform! Maybe this coming summer will be the one. Have a good hiatus. Looking forward to the next installment.

So glad you decided to keep up with the blog again this year. It's a wonderful glimpse into life on the road and it is one of about three blogs I recommend to students when I teach a circus history course at Johns Hopkins University. Along with the other two posted by K-M performers, it is a great peak behind the big top of a traditional tent show. And I can't close with this big thank you without also complimenting you and Ryan on your great clowning. Thanks for sharing your experiences and, too, preserving a record of circus life.
See you down the road!
