Friday, June 07: Irishtown, PA-4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Lot: Fire Co. grounds
The Irishtown firefighters were on hand this morning to provide the circus with coffee and donuts. God bless you, gentlemen!
It was another rainy day; the showers continued on and off all day and into the night, constantly varying in intensity.
In the first carpenter gag Ryan fell over onto his back when he noticed a drop of water landing on his head. There was a leak in the big top right above where he was laying, and the steady drops plinking on his head made him instantly think of Chinese water torture (which, strangely enough, is also what some other people instantly think of when watching us clown).
By the second show the back yard was so nasty. There was soupy mud everywhere for us to slosh through.
Ryan and I ingeniously used the rain running off the edge of the tent to wash the muck off our clown shoes.
Luckily the second audience was stupendous, which helped buoy our drowning spirits.
After a trying day, some people turn to drink to alleviate stress. Ryan, Pete, and I turned to the giant chocolate cake that Kevin Brown brought us. God bless you, Mr. Brown!
